Tim Crookall says the Earystane and Scard site will not be reclassified
The chair of Manx Utilities has confirmed the proposed windfarm site at Earystane and Scard is not on heathland.
Tim Crookall told the House of Keys yesterday (31 October), the authority is using definitions from the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture to make this determination.
Jason Moorhouse, MHK for Arbory, Castletown and Malew, had asked the MU for a new assessment.
Mr Crookall says studies have been done which show 'small patches' of heath in the area:
Yellow weather warning overnight for ice
MLC calls for 'wider conversation' on how constitutional changes are made
Fire crews respond to 'smoke and chemical smell' in Port St Mary
