Route re opens as icy weather eases

Police have re-opened the Mountain Road.

It had been closed due to thick ice and a fall of snow, since 10.15pm last night (27 Feb).

Rush-hour traffic was sent via other routes, after the road from Ramsey to Creg ny Baa was pronounced too hazardous for motorists.

A further review was due at midday but the road is now oepn.

Drivers should be aware of changeable weather conditions and drive accordingly.
