More than 200 visas issued to health and care workers

Food industry and accounting also saw high demand for visas

Almost a third of worker visas granted on the Isle of Man over an eight-month period in 2024 were for staff in health and care roles.

A total of 651 work visas were issued between April and November last year, with more than 200 for those in the medical and care sectors.

It included 85 for care workers and home carers, 63 for nurses, 24 for medical practitioners and 16 for nursing auxiliaries and assistants.

There was also high demand for visas in the food industry, with 65 for chefs, 27 for kitchen and catering assistants and 19 for waiters and waitresses.

41 work visas were issued to chartered and certified accountants, with 33 for programmers and software developers.
