Minister disappointed with union rep's comments

Cregeen denies there's a crisis looming

The education minister says he's "very disappointed" with a union representative's claims that schools in the Isle of Man are edging closer to a staffing and recruitment crisis.

During a recent visit, north-west executive for the NASUWT, Damien McNulty, said a lack of salary increases in the profession on Island meant there was a big disparity with some areas of the UK, making it difficult to recruit and retain teachers.

However, Graham Cregeen rejects that view, saying it's wide of the mark:
