MHK suggests horse tram price increase

Move would generate more than school bus rise according to Ramsey member

A Ramsey MHK has suggested the Department of Infrastructure should increase the prices of a trip on the Douglas horse trams, instead of raising school bus tickets.

Lawrie Hooper made the point on Twitter that increasing the average income per passenger on the horse trams from £1 to £2 would generate more than £80,000 per year.

This follows the news that a 33% hike in school bus fares from 30p to 40p would bring an extra £75,000 per year.
