Legion joins special pilgrimage
Members of the Island's division of the Royal British Legion have joined more than 2,000 of their UK counterparts in Belgium for a solemn commemoration.
Representatives have traveled from across the British Isles to Ypres to commemorate 90 years since the first pilgrimage on 8 August, 1928 - when 11,000 war widows marched to the heart of Flanders Fields.
Today also marks the centenary of the beginning of the 100 Days Offensive.
Eighteen Islanders, including nine wreath layers, are representing the Legion and paying respects to the Great War fallen at the Menin Gate this afternoon.
