Manx Telecom gets £1.4 million to bring forward fibre plan

99% of homes will have access in four years

Government is spending a further £1.4 million so 99 per cent of homes can have access to fibre broadband in the next four, rather than five years.

As part of an economic recovery programme, Manx Telecom has received the sum to accelerate work on the new network.

It's on top of the £10 million already awarded to the company to lay fibre across the Island.

Gansey was the first place to get access, with Baldrine, Colby and Douglas to be done in the next six months.
