Patient transfer centres taking precautions
It's not thought any local patients' data has been compromised in a major cyber attack on NHS hospitals and GP surgeries.
Among the 30-plus organisations affected include NHS Health Trusts in the north west of England - including the Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group, which co-ordinates services across Merseyside.
But the hubs most frequently used by Manx transfer patients - including the Christie Cancer Centre, Alder Hey, and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen Hospitals - have reassured users that their records remain secure.
Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust, which carries out specialist gynaecology services for Manx women, has not been directly affected by the attack, but has temporarily suspended its IT services as a precaution.
The Walton Centre has taken similar measures, and the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital's website appears to be offline.
Health bosses are advising that patients who's appointments have been affected will be contacted directly.
