Manx duo ready for Macau

Simpson and Evans taking part in 2024 Motorcycle Grand Prix meeting this week

Two Manx racers are set to be part of this week's 2024 Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix.

Marcus Simpson and Michael Evans have made the journey to Asia for the 56th edition of the race with practice beginning later this evening (13 November).

The race is scheduled to take place on Saturday (16 November).

It's set to be a Macau debut for Simpson whilst Evans - who made his maiden appearance in 2023 - will be involved for the second year running, this time onboard a Dafabet Racing Kawasaki.

Having taken part in both the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT this year Simpson was involved in crashes in both and was absent in the following months for July's Southern 100 Road Races and the Manx Grand Prix in August.

The Douglas rider says whilst it's been a difficult 12 months things have been more positive in recent weeks and he's looking forward to a new experience on the other side of the world:

Elsewhere it's been another steady year of progress for Evans - among his highlights are winning the Ultra-Lightweight race at this year's Manx Grand Prix.

He also managed two top 10 finishes in the Supersport class at the 2024 TT.

The Santon man is also of the view that one of the main draws of Macau is how different the experience is adding he sees it as one of the most technical and difficult tracks he's ever had to learn:

Once again multiple regular competitors at the Isle of Man TT Races are expected to take part in the meeting including Amalric Blanc, Rob Hodson, Peter Hickman, Paul Jordan, Erno Kostamo, Michael Rutter, Matt Stevenson, Davey Todd, Julian Trummer and Sam West.

The first motorcycle practice for the 2024 Macau Grand Prix is currently scheduled to start tonight at 11.45pm UK time (7.45am local time on Thursday, 14 November)
