Manx Care re-issues advice for Port Erin Dental Practice patients

Practice is now 'fully operational' in Douglas surgery

Manx Care has now confirmed its arrangements for patients from Port Erin Dental Practice.

It's after an initial update posted to the official government website was removed last night (25 July).

Patients contacted Manx Radio yesterday to say they had phoned the practice and been told it was only seeing patients 'on an emergency basis' - however this is not the case.

The healthcare body says Port Erin Dental Practice is now fully operational at The Square Dental Practice, 38 Woodburn Square, Douglas, and all patients from Port Erin are currently being seen at this practice.

It added the practice is 'aware of a recent miscommunication in relation to what patients have been informed by the practice and this has now been rectified. The practice apologises for any confusion this may have caused'.

Patients are currently being contacted 2-3 days prior to their appointments to confirm arrangements.

Manx Care says it is continuing to work with the provider to establish other options that may be available in terms of location going forward.

If any patients from Port Erin Dental Practice are unable to travel to Douglas for their dental care, they should contact 833667 and alternative arrangements will be made for their dental care.

Patients can arrange this via the Port Erin team (833667), as any calls made directly to any other dental practices in relation to their ongoing dental care will be not able to be dealt with.
