Manx actor up for National Television Award tonight

Joe Locke nominated for 'Rising Star' award for Heartstopper

A Manx actor is up for a National Television Award tonight.

Nineteen-year-old Joe Locke, who rose to fame earlier this year playing the lead character in Netflix drama 'Heartstopper', has been nominated for the 'Rising Star' award.

The former Ballakermeen student played Charlie Spring in the coming of age drama based on the graphic novel series of the same name by Alice Oseman.

The series itself has been nominated for 'Best New Drama' alongside 'Trigger Point', 'Time' and 'This is Going to Hurt'.

You can watch Joe Locke at the NTA's on ITV tonight from 8pm.
