Douglas man told police it's for pain relief
Pain relief - that's the reason why a Douglas man sold personal belongings to buy more than £7,500 worth of a Class B drug.
38-year-old Aaron Joseph Dean Roberts appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes on Tuesday - he pleaded guilty to one count of cannabis possession.
At around 11:10am on August 22, officers on patrol smelt it emanating from his address on Anagh Coar Close.
Upon a search of the property they discovered a large quantity of the drug - later found to have a street value of £7,584.
The court heard how he bought it in bulk for £2,500 with his savings and by selling personal items - he told police he smoked the drug on a daily basis.
Mrs Hughes adjourned the case until December 6.
In the meantime, Roberts has been bailed in his own recognisance to the sum of £500.
