Man faces pub ban after punching wife

Licensing ban and 18-month probation order

A Ballasalla man faces a pub ban after punching his wife.

Melvyn James Collister, of Crossag Terrace, appeared in court today charged with common assault on a female.

The 39-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence at Douglas Courthouse for striking his spouse in July of this year.

Deputy High Bailiff Jane Hughes issued Collister with a nine-month licensing ban and imposed a probation order for 18 months.
