Loganair back in profit but no buyers yet

Follows two years of losses during Covid pandemic

Loganair has returned to profit in its diamond anniversary year.

The airline, which operates services between the Isle of Man and several UK destinations, reported a pre-tax profit of £4.98 million for the year ending March 31.

It follows two years of losses during the Covid pandemic.

Loganair was put up for sale earlier this month.

Loganair services routes between the Island, Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham and London.

The airline has been put up for sale by owners Stephen and Peter Bond who've been at the helm for a quarter of a century.

Some analysts believe the return to modest profit might make the business more attractive to potential buyers though the age of the company's fleet could be a stumbling block.

Loganair has 43 aircraft with an average age of over 22 years.

It's currently the UK's largest regional airline.
