Local teams to remember Gareth

Football and hockey players will pay their respects to Special Olympics competitor Gareth Cowin today.

The 25-year-old, who was a member of the floor hockey squad, died on Wednesday after complications following a viral infection.

Later today, clubs around the Island will hold a minute’s applause in memory of the popular athlete.

Pulrose football club has postponed its game this afternoon in his memory.
