Local charity hopeful lung cancer screening will be available on Island

It's been recommended for the UK

Government is being urged to consider introducing lung cancer screening for smokers on the Isle of Man.

It follows a recommendation from the National Screening Committee which has called on the four UK nations to screen people over the age of 55.

The committee wants to see targeted checks for those who smoke or who have smoked during their lifetime.

Trudy Hudson is from the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation on the Island – she’s hopeful the Island will also take notice of the plea:

Earlier this year an Island family asked government to step up lung cancer screening after the death  - you can find out more HERE.
