The last significant phase of the project to upgrade the King Edward VIII pier has now been completed.
Two large parallel-motion fenders have been installed, to protect Steam Packet vessels while they undertake manoeuvres in the harbour.
Each of the fenders is 12.5 metres high and three metres wide, weighing around 40 tonnes.
The Department of Infrastructure says mooring bollards installed during the project at both ends of the pier will also enable the Manxman to remain in the harbour during storms and high winds.
It added that the project contractor, McLaughlin & Harvey, will soon be dismantling the large crawler crane and removing the remaining engineering plant before leaving the site later this month.
A temporary section of passenger walkway will remain in place until the length of the structure along the quayside is replaced next year.
