85-year-old convicted of five sexual abuse offences

Jurors determined that Marshall had abused two children, who were both under the age of 16, in the 1970s at the facility on Woodbourne Road in Douglas.

He was guilty, they said, of three counts of indecent assault and two of gross indecency.

After delivering the verdict the jury was told Marshall had previous convictions for similar offences – having been convicted, in 1992, of 13 counts of indecently assaulting children at Knottfield.

Marshall has been bailed until his next court appearance on 17 January when a sentencing date will be set.
