Knockaloe on the market from Monday

DEFA chief pleased progress is finally being made

A public meeting last night was told if you have an idea to develop Knockaloe, you’ll be able to express an interest in the site from Monday.

The third in a series of gatherings saw around 40 people gather in Patrick to hear Agriculture Minister Richard Ronan announce the former farm will be marketed from Monday – with possible tenants ready to move in later this year.

A heritage project will see a visitors centre telling the story of the World War One internment camp with an original hut from the camp expected to draw thousands of visitors from the internees 1.5 million descendants.

Mr Ronan said after so long, it was good to see real progress being made.
