Kirrie Jenkins receives LegCo nomination

Support from MHK's Allinson and Christian

The chair of Arbory and Rushen Commissioners has been nominated for a seat on the Legislative Council.

Kirrie Jenkins has been proposed by Douglas Central MHK Ann Corlett and seconded by Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Tim Glover.

Treasury Minister Alex Allinson and Douglas South member Claire Christian are in support of the nomination.

Mrs Corlett believes Mrs Jenkins has "demonstrated a commitment to public life and to the third sector" alongside "an awareness of the challenges currently facing the Island."

Kirrie Jenkins was educated at Castle Rushen High School and has held multiple directorship posts across her career history.

Alongside her public service work in Abory and Rushen Commissioners, she is a member of the Southern Swimming Pool Board and up until 2021, held a director and company secretary role at the Isle of Man Agricultural Marketing Society.
