Keys returns for 2019

Two MHKs table questions for first sitting of the year

The House of Keys sits for the first time this year on Tuesday and questions are due to come from just two members.

Lawrie Hooper has two of the six down for oral answer, and all seven tabled for written reply.

The other four come from Jason Moorhouse.

Mr Hooper's ones for oral answer concern the Isle of Man EU Settlement Scheme and what progress there has been on improving Ramsey's bus and tram stations.

His questions for written reply are all directed at the home affairs minister and relate to targets laid down in the Programme for Government.

Mr Moorhouse, meanwhile, wants to know how the education department will help Island school pupils reach their full potential in 2019, and will ask the chief minister what his three main priorities are between now and the next general election in 2021.

He'll also ask what enhanced support will be given to help new and existing exporters continue trading with the EU and rest of the world post-Brexit.

There's live coverage of House of Keys questions on Manx Radio AM1368, and via manxradio.com and the smartphone apps, from 10am on Tuesday.
