Karran dominates Tynwald questions

Onchan MHK Peter Karran dominates tomorrow's Tynwald question paper.

He has six of the eleven for oral answer, on a range of subjects.

They include one for the treasury minister on the Sefton Group loan-and-land deal

Mr Karran will ask Eddie Teare if he thinks, in the wake of the Sefton Group deal, Island-based banks are doing enough to financially support the business sector.

In another question for Mr Teare he asks why there was no competitive tender for the TT broadcast commentary rights.

Mr Karran also has a query for the community, culture and leisure minister, Graham Cregeen, on the cost so far of covering the bus dispute.

Elsewhere North Douglas MHK Bill Henderson wants to know what powers the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture has to combat damage to the Manx countryside.

And Castletown MHK Richard Ronan wants the chief minister to make a statement on developing a means-testing policy as a way of tackling government's budgetary pressures.

You can hear live coverage of this month's Tynwald sitting, starting with the question paper, on Manx Radio's AM1368 frequency, and online at manxradio.com, from 10.30 tomorrow morning.
