On Air The Afternoon Show Chris Quirk | 3:00pm - 5:00pm

Just four acts to be promulgated at Tynwald Day

There are also new petition regulations this year

Todays promulgation of Acts from Tynwald Hill will be of short duration

Just four will be read in English and the Manx language during today’s open air ceremony.

The four include the Manx Care Amendment Act  making updated provision in respect of complaints in respect of services provided and functions performed

The other three acts are the Income Tax Act, the Capacity Act and the Energy Act.

Following on that will be presentation for redress of grievance.

There will be at least two but are likely to be others. Half of last year’s 16 petitions were deemed out of order. Once passed as fit the petition has to attract the attention of an MHK or be picked up as its termed.

New regulations apply to petitioners this year

Including that the petitioner can raise something they sense as being of national importance even though they do not have a personal involvement in

On occasion an MHK has handed over a petition on behalf of a constituent
