"Postal industry plays a key role in society and economy"
The Isle of Man Post Office is celebrating it's 50th birthday.
In 1973, the organisation obtained postal independence - which allows the post office to design its own stamps and become the 'masters of its own destiny'.
A commemorative set of stamps have been specially designed to mark the significant milestone.
General Manager of Stamps and Coins is Maxine Cannon:
Chief Executive Officer Simon Kneen says: “As we look forward, it is undeniable that the postal industry will continue to evolve at a rapid pace. We remain committed to delivering our strategy to transform the business for future financial and environmental sustainability, making strides in our bid to become a greener organisation and continuing to meet the changing needs of our valued customers.”
