Island students less likely to come home

Findings come from 2017 Graduate Survey

A study has found fewer than half of students who travel off-Island to university return home straight away.

But education bosses insist that's nothing new.

The 2017 Graduate Survey, completed by thousands of Manx students, shows around 45% of university leavers have, or wish to, return to the Island in the immediate term.

While safety and family ties are given as the main reasons for coming back, poor career prospects were highly cited as reasons to stay further afield.
