Banned directors blame economic conditions
Two Island businessmen say they will appeal against what they call a 'blatant miscarriage' of justice.
Jonathan and Jamie Irving have been ordered to pay £75,000 in legal costs after they were disqualified from being directors.
The pair ran Peel-based Street Heritage before it was wound up by government in 2010 over unpaid tax bills of more than £180,000.
In a statement, Mr Irving Sr. explains he successfully ran his own local businesses for more than 30 years, employing many people and paying taxes, before falling into difficulty due to what he described as 'totally dire economic conditions'.
The Irvings have also been banned from holding directorships for eight and seven years respectively.
