IOM continues Brexit 'charm offensive' with UK

Delegation in London

A delegation of senior Manx politicians have travelled to London to advance the Island's cause amidst Brexit.

The Chief Minister Howard Quayle and Enterprise Minister Laurence Skelly were in the English capital on Monday to build closer ties with the UK, as negotiations continue.

Following the proposed Withdrawal Agreement which states the Island will retain its current relationship with the EU during the Brexit implementation period, Manx politicians have been pressing the palms of their UK counterparts.

The Chief Minister attended the latest of the quarterly meetings between the heads of Crown Dependencies and the UK Department for Exiting the European Union (DExEU).

He was joined by Jersey Chief Minister Ian Gorst, and Gavin St Pier, the Chief Minister of Guernsey, for the talks held with Robin Walker MP.

Meanwhile Enterprise Minister Laurence Skelly met with representatives from the business community to foster 'stronger links'.
