Hunt for new Steam Packet non-executives

Specialists will earn £20k for 24 days work per year

Treasury is seeking two new finance and marketing specialists for the Steam Packet board.

The successful candidates will earn £20,000 for 24 days work per year.

They'll also have to attend quarterly board meetings, as well as other commitments.

Treasury, which is carrying out the recruitment process for the Steam Packet as sole shareholder, says the new non-executive directors will 'help develop the effectiveness of the company’s governance structures, operational plan and financial management, and ensure the company abides by the highest standard of business conduct.'

Treasury Minister Alex Allinson says his department is keen to 'strengthen the existing board following a retirement'

The appointment will initially be for three years, with the option of adding a further two years by mutual agreement

Applications close on Sunday, 5 May.
