House of Keys discuss gas legislation

Some argue it is being rushed through

​The Gas Regulation (Amendment) Bill 2023, which government describes as 'short and focused', has been brought to the House of Keys this morning.

It comes after numerous reports of disconnections in recent weeks.

The gas provider has labelled the move 'unnecessary', 'anti-competitive' and 'disappointing' and says the government has failed to collaborate to find an agreeable solution.

But mover of the bill, Minister for the Cabinet Office Kate Lord-Brennan, says the legislation has two main intents:
