Hospitality industry feels impact of Covid tracing

Businesses shut or scale back due to self-isolation

A cafe in Laxey has raised concerns that hospitality businesses are falling 'into holes' as it feels the impact of Covid-19 contact tracing.

Both chefs at Laxey Kitchen have been instructed to self-isolate.

The cafe is now operating in its coffee shop capacity only saying it's stuck 'between a rock and a hard place'.

In a post on Facebook it says there is no support in place to assist businesses in navigating government's 'living with Covid' strategy.

Meanwhile the Fynoderee Distillery in Ramsey also shut its bar last night, until further notice, saying several key members of the team were having to self-isolate.

In what is only the second week of trading it says 'living with Covid' is not without its challenges to the industry and this is the 'last thing' it needed.
