The project is estimated to cost approaching a quarter of a million pounds
It's hoped that a new double mobile classroom will be in place at Castle Rushen High School by the start of the next school year.
The Education Minister confirmed plans are progressing for the new unit to be installed over the summer holidays, subject to planning approvals.
The new unit is expected to cost in the region of £230,000, which includes its supply, delivery, cranage and erection, as well as work to lay the foundations and supply power to the unit.
In the House of Keys this morning, Jule Edge also confirmed the unit will change use once it's no longer needed on the school site:
