Claire Christian is seeking Tynwald approval to form a committee
The health minister will ask for a committee to be set up later this month to look at the working arrangements between her department and Manx Care.
Four years after Manx Care came into operation, Claire Christian says it's the right time to take stock and review the relationship.
The minister will be seeking Tynwald approval to form a five-member committee to look at the governance, responsibilities and statutory relationship between the two organisations.
She says health and social care touches the lives of everyone on the Island, and there is considerable and continuing interest and debate in how the services are run, funded and meet the needs of the community.
If Tynwald supports the minister's motion when it sits later this month, the committee will have to bring terms of reference to the June sitting, before publishing its final report in December.
Chair of Manx Care Professor Wendy Reid welcomes the call for a review, saying current legislation provides significant challenges regarding independence, oversight and decision making.
