Gov't sending a 'negative message' with Ardwhallan closure

Venture Centre director says there should be 'focus' on outdoor activities

The Isle of Man government is sending a 'negative message' by closing Ardwhallan.

The outdoor education centre is currently closed as a review is carried out into its future.

All activities and bookings there have now been stopped.

Simon Read is the manager of the Venture Centre, in Maughold, and says the value of being outdoors shouldn't be underestimated:

A local teacher says Ardwhallan is the sort of facility that brings the best out of young people.
