Gas, gambling and the TT among Keys questions topics

Five questions for oral answer at this week's sitting

Gas exploration, gambling, pensions, the electoral register and TT coverage are the topics which will be raised during House of Keys questions this morning.

In the questions for written answer, meanwhile, Onchan MHK Rob Callister has three on housing for the infrastructure minister, and one for the chairman of Manx Utilities about electricity generation at the energy from waste plant.

A question on what the chief minister plans to do with any money raised from granting gas exploration licences will be asked by Ayre and Michael member Tim Baker.

Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse wants the treasury minister to make a statement about the consultation on gambling supervision, and will also ask him how long it takes people to receive a pension forecast.

And Julie Edge will ask the enterprise minister when the contract for radio coverage at TT 2019 will be awarded.

That's been pre-empted by a statement issued by the Department for Enterprise yesterday evening, which confirmed an agreement in principle has been reached with Manx Radio.

Three bills are also on the agenda: the Council of Ministers (Amendment) Bill, and Town and Country Planning (Amendment) Bill will have their second readings, while the Charities Registration and Regulation Bill is at the clauses stage.

You can hear coverage of House of Keys questions on Manx Radio's AM1368 frequency, or via 'Listen AM' at manxradio.com or the smartphone apps from 10am.
