Future of Belfast flights 'precarious' due to low passenger numbers

Chief Minister says work is ongoing to make the route commercially viable

Bookings on flights between the Isle of Man and Belfast have been lower than had been hoped, leaving the future of the route 'precarious'.

That's the assessment of the chief minister, who has confirmed work is ongoing to make the service commercially viable.

Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse asked about the lack of available flights between Ronaldsway and Northern Ireland from October in this week's sitting of the House of Keys.

Alfred Cannan said passenger numbers have made the route a challenge for operators:
