Fraudster told custodial sentence is possible

Charles 'Buster' Lewin, who's admitted charges in the Douglas East by election fraud trial, made a brief appearance in court this afternoon.

Lewin, from Crosby, admitted three counts of election fraud on the eve of the trial.

When he appeared in the dock he was told that all sentencing options were open, but a custodial sentence was likely.

His case was adjourned for pre sentence reports to a date to be fixed and his bail conditions continued.

Earlier today the jury retired to consider its vericts on two women accused of election fraud offences in the same case.

25 year old Kerry Rothwell and Gail Corrin who's 40, deny the charges.
