Clague delight at MBE
Four awards have been made to Isle of Man residents in the Queen's New Year Honours List.
Former First Deemster David Doyle becomes a Commander of the Order of the British Empire or CBE for outstanding services to Manx law.
Martin Benson receives a British Empire Medal for outstanding and continuing public service after over 40 years with the Rushen emergency ambulance.
A further BEM goes to Mary Bridson for her 68 year involvement with the St John Ambulance.
And Stewart Clague becomes an MBE for an outstanding contribution to the Isle of Man and the Lonan and Laxey community.
He set up SCS Ltd in 1969 and it now employs over 100 staff.
Mr Clague has also established a nature reserve at his Ballanette home, been a local commissioner, redeveloped the Salmon Lake Centre and is currently involved helping the former All Saints Church to re-open as a community centre.
Stewart Clague says the nature reserve was built in memory of his late daughter but wasn't an area of expertise for him.
