Former Head of Biodiversity delighted at adoption of strategy

Long term implementation may be unclear

The former Head of Biodiversity at the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says the whole island must work together if a Biodiversity Strategy is to be effective.

Tynwald's adoption of the document Managing our Natural Wealth represents the culmination of over five years work for Liz Charter who left DEFA earlier this year.

The document sets out guidelines to protect and preserve the Island's natural environment for the next ten years, and whilst she's delighted that the document was approved, she's not entirely clear how it will pan out long-term.
