Focus groups on funding and residential care

Open sessions around the Island

The first in a number of focus groups addressing how the Island will fund nursing and residential care in the future will take place in Ramsey tonight (Tues 16 Oct).

They follow on from sessions held at Keyll Darree at Nobles Hospital earlier this year where people aged predominantly between 20 and 50 expressed their views.

Minister for Policy and Reform Chris Thomas says whilst everyone is being encouraged to lead more active lifestyles and stay healthy for as long as possible - with increasing life expectancy, more of us will need help in years to come.

This evening's session is at the Bunscoill Ramsey between 6 and 8pm. Local people are being encouraged to attend.

Further sessions will take place at Noa Bakehouse in Douglas on 22nd October, the Town Hall in Castletown on 24th and Clothworkers School, Peel on 25th.
