Five day weather watch for frost and ice

Yellow warning issued by Ronaldsway Met Office

There's a yellow weather warning for frost and ice in place for the next 5 days.

Ronaldsway Met Office issued the notice which runs from 9pm yesterday evening until 3pm on Thursday.

For the early part of today, the ice risk is for high ground above 500 feet but that lowers to just a few hundred feet for the rest of the period.

It also applies to sheltered low lying areas as well.

After a week of heavy rain, the fields are saturated with water running onto roads.

The Met Office says any untreated damp or wet areas will readily turn to ice.

There's also the possibility of some isolated light snow showers during the next few days but it should remain largely dry until later in the week.

It is forecast to be very cold in the coming days with a fresh to strong wind coming in from the east.

The general guidance is to drive to the conditions and allow more time for your journey.
