First Keys and LegCo sittings of New Year

Brexit and General Election raised

There are some broad topics among questions at this morning's first House of Keys sitting of 2019.

The Legislative Council will gather to consider the second reading and clauses stage of the Charities Registration and Regulation Bill.

Castletown MHK Jason Moorhouse is asking about Brexit and education

He'll ask the chief minister about any extra support for existing and new Island exporters trading with the EU and the rest of the world.

And he wants to know about key initiatives this year in primary and secondary schools to help students achieve their full potential.

Finally Mr Moorhouse will ask Howard Quayle what his three main priorities are ahead of the next General Election in 2021.

Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper will ask when the Isle of Man EU Settlement Scheme will be opened as well as seeking an update on improving Ramsey bus and tram stations.

You can hear coverage of today's sitting of the House of Keys on AM1368, Manx Radio smart phone apps and via listen live AM option on the website.
