Manx Telecom's national fibre rollout scheme is going to be delayed due to the recent rejection of plans by the Planning Committee.
The company had wanted to install poles to accommodate fibre broadband cables above ground - but saw seven applications refused.
The target completion date for the government-backed project was next month.
Chief technology officer Hugo van Zyl says the company has to go back to the drawing board following the rejections:
