Family pleased with mesothelioma case outcome

Unite helps secure landmark compensation

The son of a man who died of mesothelioma says the family is pleased compensation has been awarded posthumously, and hopes it makes more people aware of the disease.

In a landmark case for the Isle of Man - the first of its kind here - Unite the Union successfully helped the family of Peter Quirk win it.

He died in 2014, aged 75, after being exposed to asbestos while working for Okells brewery more than 40 years ago.

His son Kevin says it's a positive outcome to a sad situation:
