Number of children being educated at home has increased to 204
The number of children registered as being homeschooled continues to rise, with Education Minister Daphne Caine revealing that 204 pupils were registered as home-educated at the start of this academic year.
This marks an increase from 170 last year, which itself was an uplift of 40 on the previous year.
The Department of Education, Sport and Culture is part of the Isle of Man Safeguarding Board, which works to protect children from abuse or dangers they may face at home.
Mrs Caine says everyone on the Island has a role to play in protecting young people and vulnerable adults.
In light of recent events in the UK, the minister was asked if she would expedite legislation to ensure children's wellbeing:
