Emergency Services urge motorists to drive to conditions

Police in the north advise people to only travel if necessary

The emergency services are urging motorists to drive to the conditions and take extra care when driving on snow or ice.

Police in the north of the Island are warning roads and pavements are very slippery in places, and are recommending people only travel if absolutely necessary.

Those who do have to drive are advised to allow extra time and expect delays on all major routes.

The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service was called to multiple road traffic collisions yesterday morning, resulting in a number of road closures.

A yellow weather warning for hail, sleet and ice remains in force until midday today, with gritters having treated a number of the Island's roads overnight.

The Mountain Road remains closed due to the adverse conditions.
