Early morning blaze sparks vehicle reminder

Fire and Rescue Service ask motorists to be more considerate

Motorists are being urged to be more considerate when parking to allow emergency vehicles enough room to pass.

The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service has made the plea - saying it will prevent lives from being put at risk' after attending a fire in the early hours of this morning.

Three fire appliances attended the blaze on Stanley Place in Douglas – there were no occupants at the property.

Police have confirmed the driver of a Nissan Navara – which was parked in the way of the fire engine – has been issued with a £60 fixed penalty notice.
