Douglas man admits indecently assaulting barmaid

Police review CCTV following the reported incident

A Douglas man has admitted to indecently assaulting a barmaid after unsuccessfully trying to chat her up.

Twenty-year-old Joshua Thomas Mills, of Hilltop View, appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.

He admitted committing the offence on 21 August last year.

Mr Swain told the court Mr Mills was out drinking in the pub from about 4pm that day.

At around 10pm, he knocked over a stack of beermats and went behind the bar to help pick them up.

But while he was there, he reached over and touched the woman's breasts with the palm of his hands - she later reported it to police, who reviewed CCTV footage of the incident.

Mrs Hughes granted bail in the sum of £500 with conditions he doesn't return to the pub or contact his victim.

He'll next appear in court on 22 March.
