Don't drink and cook, says fire service

Two incidents highlight dangers

The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service is warning of the dangers of cooking after drinking alcohol.

It comes after two fires in the last few days caused by cookers being left unattended - or people forgetting food on the stove.

No one was hurt in the incidents, but they did cause damage and disruption for those concerned.

Station Officer Mark Caley says officers don't want to be killjoys, but a little thought in advance can save a lot of trouble:
