World Mental Health Day: Where is the Island at?

Charities and schools discuss the landscape of mental wellbeing across the Isle of Man

Today is World Mental Health Day.

According to the World Health Organisation, mental, neurological and substance use disorders make up 10% of the global issue.

Suicide is most common among 15–29-year-olds, of which it stands as the fourth leading cause of death.

In addition to the services that Isle Listen provides for young people, they've since launched parent drop-in sessions.

They're being held at the Isle Listen offices in Douglas and Castletown.

Sessions at Douglas location:

  • 27 October (17.30 - 18.30)
  • 24 November (17.30 - 18.30)
  • 15 December (17.30 - 18.30)

Sessions at Castletown location:

  • 11 October (12.30 - 14.30)
  • 8 November (12.30 - 14.30)

Saturday saw Isle Listen and Ramsey Crookall host a 'Sea Dip for your Sanity' event.

Residents across the Island took part in the celebration in recognition of World Mental Health Day in Port Erin.
