DHSC seeks approval for £11.7m care home construction

Funds needed for 60-bed Summerhill View facility

Support to spend almost £12million constructing a new 60-bed care home in Douglas will be sought at this month's sitting of Tynwald.

The Department of Health and Social Care is asking for £11.7million for Summerhill View.

The older persons residential and resource centre would replace the Reayrt ny Baie facility, which is no longer fit for purpose.

The total doesn't include the £751,000 already approved for design fees.
